| "We know what it takes to win, and we bring intensity, sportsmanship and professionalism to the paintball field." Team Captain, David C. Thompson | Umbrella Group Structure Capital Offense operates similar to that of an umbrella group structure – we have people in various States on the east coast, all operating semi-independently in their area, but reporting to a centralized organizational structure. This way, members of Capital Offense can be recognized on a larger scale by attending many games across the country - even several games at the same time. Hence, we are always on the lookout to start new divisions.
The Five Founding Team Members' (or "Plank Owners") bios are listed below:
David C. Thompson, Captain Position – Point Man, Team Leader
David is an 18 year veteran of the sport of paintball, going back to the days of pistols and pump guns. His father (also a Capital Offense team member) took him to his first formal game on his 10th birthday and they both have been hooked ever since. David has played recreational ball, tournament ball (playing for the now infamous Rob Staudinger, Captain of Baltimore Trauma, in the 1990's), and now focuses his efforts on scenario ball (perhaps stemming from his penchant for studying world history and military tactics). David’s training in tournament-ball coupled with his interest in the military brilliance of those such as Carl Von Clouswitz and Sun Tzu has translated into Capital Offense’s doctrine of mobility, speed and unpredictable assault tactics with core defensive fundamentals.
When not shooting people on the paintball field, fly-fishing or spending time on a boat, David is a professional lobbyist in Washington, DC, representing a number of clients before the federal government. Previously, David worked for the President's and Vice President's Advance Teams in the White House in 2002-2003 and worked on the 2000 Bush/Cheney Campaign. In College, David also interned at Hannity and Colmes on Fox News and the White House Office of Media Affairs. David is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jonathan Fazio, Plank Owner Position - Wingman, Director of Recruitment
When Team Captain, David Thompson, approached Jonathan (Fonzy) Fazio about starting a formal team aimed at professionalizing the scenario market, there was speculation as to the possibility of success. How can one professionalize a sport specifically aimed at a "recreational" market? However, Fonzy went along for the ride and is now happy to report that Capital Offense has reached its initial goals and is now setting out even more lofty tasks for the coming year. Fonzy, a banker by profession, is adept at calculating the cost of paintball into his monthly discretionary allotment and therefore takes exceptional pride in achieving a high elimination to shot ratio. Fonzy is especially fond of placing a paintball on someone's face in between a 2 inch crack at 30 yards. He calls this his "Money Shot."

Lisa Thompson, Plank Owner Position – Wingman, Logistics Specialist
Lisa has played paintball for 7 years with a recently renewed interest in scenario paintball. Lisa’s methodical style of play is a testament to her strong work ethic - in all aspects - and a precision to detail. Lisa’s meticulousness is a vital element to Capital Offense’s organizational structure and game-play. While she has years of experience on the very front lines, Lisa is in her element when she can observe the game on a macro level and move the necessary pieces, which has saved her teammates from trouble more times than one can count. Her sniping abilities are also top-notch, ranking high among the team’s shots-to-eliminations ratio.
Lisa works for network news and thus travels extensively but makes as much time for paintball as possible in between. Lisa also enjoys boating, camping, scuba diving and skiing (and every once in a while, her husband can talk her into fishing). Lisa’s background lies in theatre and film where she has worked on the production-side of shows like One Life to Live and Sesame Street’s Elmo’s World. Lisa is a native of Charlotte, NC.

David A. Thompson (Senior), Plank Owner Position – Tapeman, Sniper Deployment Alpha
“Old-Man-Thompson” began paintball when he took his son, David to play on his 10th birthday. Since that time, the two have been a father-son duo at numerous scenario games across the east coast, but his best memories are from the 26 hour scenario game at Fort Pickett, VA. Having aged somewhat, David’s playing style is now more of a support and sniper position than it used to be! With younger players on Capital Offense, David has the luxury of back-up as opposed to "front-line frantic"! He can usually be found providing sniper cover for the unit from a distant bush where he is seldom seen, but often heard laughing as he snipes and taunting the opposition in classic psychological warfare style…
Formerly a high school Athletic Director and basketball/track coach, David is now a financial and estate planner. David relishes the activity that paintball, hunting, golf and fishing afford him in his off hours. Currently a resident of Mooresville - on Lake Norman, NC, he also enjoys the water - a carry-over from his years in the Navy.

Chris George, Plank Owner Position – Wingman, Assault Specialist
Chris’ contributions to Capital Offense both on and off the field are compounded by his 13 years of paintball experience. Chris has an affinity for the front lines and kicking down doors, which makes him a valuable asset and a serious threat to opponents. His aggressive playing style marries well with Capital Offense’s methods, and equalizes with his macro and micro-level knowledge of military doctrine and tactics. Like most of his teammates Chris is a history buff, which provides him with a good understanding of vital tactical objectives and how to accomplish them.
Chris is in charge of Capital Offense’s Atlanta Division and can be seen many weekends pounding away at the opposition at Atlanta’s top fields. When not taking his aggression out on the paintball field, he can be found putting a three inch spread on paper silhouettes with his assortment of pistols.
